MARXISM: Dialectic Materialism
Influence: Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel: 1770-1831
Karl Marx: 1818 – 1883
Friedrich Engels: 1820 – 1895
Dialectic materialism is the fundamental perspective of history for the Soviet Marxist-Leninist ideology. The concept of the dialectic process explained by Hegel explains how contradictory ideas move ideas to a higher level. The conflict of thesis and anti-thesis create a product called a synthesis. This movement is forever progressing or evolving. So with this Truth is always evolving. Marx injected materialism into the theory to add his own spin to the progression of truth.
To explain the concept of dialectic materialism further, let’s look at the three main fundamentals.
1. First is the transformation of quantity into quality. This is evident in the ideas of unionization. The theorized benefit of unionization is for workers to have the same standards. Marxists believe that this consistency brings quality products or services rather than the quantity of a more incentive driven capitalist system. We see a similar system being put into place in the United States with Total Quality Management (TQM). This system is a method to standardize our system to promote a seamless communication. This system removes the individual influence and any ability to innovate.
2. Second is the unity of opposites. This is evident in the class struggle. As the capitalists take advantage of the proletariat, opposites are not united or unified. The unification of the two groups by wealth distribution will end the conflict. This, in the Marxist theory, will create the utopia ending class warfare. This system also removes the individuals influence by discouraging innovation for self promotion.
3. Thirdly there is the negation of negation. This is the progression or the progressive idea that a previous system will be negated by a new system. The example that has been experienced in the past is the progression from feudalism to capitalism. Now we are experiencing the shift from capitalism to communism.
This process is a very complicated system that is being implemented now and has been since the early 1900’s. The purpose of the study is to explain the dialectic process transforming the United States to that of the federalization of the country by eliminating individual liberties and the effectiveness of separation of State and Federal powers. As we have become accustomed to the slow progress that is being fed to us by the media, politicians, and even employers, we are dangerously close to economic disaster and the complete fundamental change of our republic to a union. It is time to guard our liberties.
Next we will discuss the atheistic ideology of the Marxist.
